My First Day on a Cruise

I went on my first cruise when I was 6. I was very scared. I didn't know what it would be like. After the first day, I loved it!

It is okay to be scared when going on a cruise. It is a big ship with lots of people. Maybe you are afraid of sharks? Or you will fall in? Or the ship will sink? I was scared of those things, but none of those things will happen. You won't even think of those things because you are having too much fun.

“The ship is like a big city with lots of things to do. There are a lot of things for kids to do, too. My favorite part is the free ice cream!”

When we first got on the ship, we couldn't go to our rooms. Instead, we went to eat in the big dinning room. There is a big buffet and you can pick whatever you want! There is dessert too. My dad says I can only have two desserts. The desserts are small so you can try more than one if your mom or dad says its okay.

After we ate lunch, we went swimming. My mom packed swimming suits in our book bags. You can take your book bag with you on the ship but you have to leave your big suitcase with the people at the scanners. Then someone will bring it to your room for you. So, remember to pack a swimsuit!

The pool is a lot of fun. My dad says every ship is different. This ship has a slid only for kids, not grown ups. There is a place to squirt your family with water guns! And there is a pool to swim in. My dad says it has salt in it so it tastes funny.

After the pool our rooms were ready. We changed into dry clothes. Our rooms were very small. There was one big bed and two small beds. The small beds folded down from the wall! My brother got a bed and I got a bed.
