Cruising is a great option for a family or get-away vacation. Why? Here are 7 reasons why cruising makes good common sense.

We stumbled on cruising purely out of luck. A last-minute cruise deal popped up on my Facebook feed and I thought...why not check it out? My hubby and I went on a cruise for our anniversary a long time ago, but we never thought to take our youngsters.

I checked the offer out. 5 days, 4 nights. Food, entertainment, and activities included. $1,250 for an inside state room (the cheapest of the cheap). We couldn't go too many places for that price including food!

I found tickets on Frontier Airline for $35 round trip (check out how I did it, Tip #4). Just like that we were headed to sunny Florida thirty days later for less than $1,400.

So why does cruising make sense for us? Let's check out the 7 reasons why cruising makes good plain sense...

Reason #1: Cruises are a Great Bang for your Buck

Cruises are all-inclusive. You pay one price and you get all-you-can eat buffets, mouth-watering 4-course meals, and fun daytime and nighttime activities such as a climbing wall, gym, swimming pool and hot tub, Kids Club for the little ones, and a variety of shows. And the best thing...everything is paid for before you leave home!

Reason #2: Destination Hop to Many Places

Visit many places, but only unpack once. Usually with a cruise you visit multiple places. Many of the cruises I have been on have visited two to four different destinations depending on the length of the cruise. In seven days, we visited Jamaica, Haiti, and Mexico!

See many places and only unpack once!

Reason #3: Kids Club Gives You a Break

Built in Baby Sitting. Vacations are supposed to be relaxing and rejuvenating. With that said, vacations can be stressful when having to watch your kids every minute of the day. Enter Kids Club! This is a theme and fun-centered time for your children while you go an layout by the pool, get in a workout or massage, explore the ship's activities, gamble, or finally read that book.

Reason #4: Safe & Fun Environment

Cruises are safety-centered. Cruises are inherently safe. They require background checks and special training. Everything from the Kids Club to the pool to the climbing wall are highly regulated for safety. Even the excursions are well checked and double checked to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

Safety is the number one priority.

Reason #5: Meet Interesting People

People cruise from all around the world. Cruises give you the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. You don't have to leave your country to meet interesting new people who will become lifelong (Facebook) friends. We still have friends we met on our honeymoon cruise many years ago.

Reason #6: Disconnect

Disconnect from life and truly relax. Cruises are a great way to disconnect from the hustle, bustle, and stress of daily life. Unless you pay the extra high priced fee for wifi, you won't have any signal on the ship. Enjoy relaxing, reconnecting with your loved ones, and the time away from devices.

Disconnect and reconnect with yourself or loved ones.

Reason #7: Room Service

Room Service, need I say more? For a small fee or even for free, you can have most meals and snacks delivered right to your room. Enjoy a specially prepared breakfast in bed or dinner on your balcony.

Enjoy room service 24/7.

I love cruising. I wish we found family cruising sooner. When the year is up, we will have two more cruises under our belts. My kidos love to travel to new places and experience new things and they absolutely love the Kids Club. Emilee has been so excited, she even started writing about her experiences traveling. And cruising started it all.

There is so much to see and do on the cruise ship all the while being one of the most cost-effective ways to see the world. I'm looking forward to our next cruise!

Hi, I'm Emilee. I'm in third grade. I love to travel and see everything I can see. My family likes to travel in a plane, car, camper or ship to get to new places. I know some kids aren't able to travel, I hope you can travel with me through my blog. Or maybe you are scared of your trip and this makes you feel better!
