What is airport security?

Going through airport security can be a little scary. But don't worry after you do it one, it'll easy peasy lemon squeezy.

When you first get to the airport you have to go through security. In security, the workers check to make sure everyone is safe to fly. This means the workers check you and your bag.

You put your backpack and suitcase onto the scanner. It goes into a big box. The workers use an X-ray to look at the inside of the bag. Its so cool!

Because I am under 12, I don't have to take off my shoes. My mom and dad have to take off their shoes and coats. But if you are a kid, you don't have to!

After you put your backpack on the scanner, you walk through a machine. It looks like a doorway. The big machine checks for unsafe stuff. Sometimes, they might check your hands or use a detector that looks like a wand. I had that happen once to me. They brushed my hand and said "All good!"

Then you get your bag from the scanner and wait for your parents. It can be a little scary the first time, but it is easy!
