Flying isn't so scary

I went on my first plane ride when I was 6 years old. I was a little scared until I got on the plane and went up into the air. Then it was fun!

Before you get on the plane, you have to go to through security. Security is where they check you to make sure your are safe. Check out my post about going through security. After you go through security and you get your backpack, you find your gate.

I just follow my mom and dad. They usually tell me which gate number to look for. The gate is the where the plane parks. We make it a game to see who can find the gate number first.

When we get to the gate, we wait. And wait. And wait. It can be boring. Sometimes there is a plane parking or taking off. That's fun to see. Usually, I play on my iPad or play hang man with my mom.

Then you board the plane. You need a boarding pass to get on the plane. A boarding pass shows the people working you are allowed to be on the plane.

Then you find your seat. The plan can be very crowded and sometimes very loud. If you have a small suitcase you put it in the bin over your head. If you have a backpack, you put it under the seat in front of you.

I like to sit next to the window and look out. But I have to take turns with my brother. When I sit down, I get out the things I need so I am ready. I get out my headphones, iPad, and snacks. I get out my pillow and put it around my neck. After I put my backpack under the seat in front of me, I put on my seat belt. Then I am ready to go.

Sometimes it takes a long time before the plane takes off. When the plane takes off it drives slowly then gets faster and faster and lifts into the air. It feels kind of funny and you get pushed back a little into your seat. I like looking out at the ground below. Everything is so tiny!

My favorite is when the airplane goes above the clouds. The clouds are so pretty. Sometimes the plan will go through the clouds and everything is white.

Riding in a plane is not scary at all. It is a lot of fun. Plus you get to where you are going much faster than driving!
