Did you know we have 2,000 year old mounds in Ohio? Yes we do! We have then all over Ohio. The biggest one is near Dayton in Miamisburg. It is called the Miamisburg Mound. The mound is conical in shape. That means it is shaped like a cone. The bottom is wide and the top comes to a point.

This mound is 65 feet tall. It was built by the Adena Indians. They used mounds to bury their dead. Everyone who wasn't buried in these special mounds. It was only for important people. The Adena Indians would bury one body in dirt. Then they would add another body later and cover it in dirt. Soon they built a really tall mound!

Hi, I'm Emilee. I'm in third grade. I love to travel and see everything I can see. My family likes to travel in a plane, car, camper or ship to get to new places. I know some kids aren't able to travel, I hope you can travel with me through my blog. Or maybe you are scared of your trip and this makes you feel better!
